Michel is a long-time Arlington, VA resident, originally from Vermont, and a US Navy veteran. His passion for photography began in Vermont with a Kodak Instamatic camera. He became the family photographer, documenting moments that have since become treasured memories.

He continued taking pictures throughout his Navy service and vacation travels.  In the Washington DC area, Michel has photographed numerous events for friends and charity organizations.  

During his sales career with several Fortune 500 companies, including Oracle, Microsoft and Avaya, Michel learned the critical importance of presenting a successful and confident image to customers and colleagues.

Specializing in professional headshots, Michel founded PhotosByMichel to provide affordable, high-quality headshots for professionals at all career stages. Using top-tier Nikon and Elinchrom gear, he ensures each session is tailored to capture the client’s personality and professionalism.

With a focus on convenience, headshot sessions are quick, typically lasting 45-60 minutes. Clients can select their photo on-site, and final images are ready within 1-2 business days after retouching.
